Ben Houghton

Ben Houghton grew up in Surf City and developed his passion for cooking at a young age. Whether it was preparing the catch of the day with his dad or frequenting local produce stands with his mom, Ben learned early on that “fresh is just better.” With twelve years of experience in various restaurants of Topsail Beach and Wilmington, his favorite role was working under Chef Bobby Zimmerman at True Blue Butcher and Table in 2019. Chef Bobby’s commitment to quality and excellence made it an easy choice of where to work once moving back to Wilmington this year. His local favorites are the Spicy Kimchi bowl from FunBowl, the Hot Honey White from Dough House and, of course, Yellow Curry from Indochine.
