Taste of Wrightsville Beach Expands Reach with Fundraising for Seniors in Brunswick County, WNC

MegaCorp Logistics will present the 11th Annual Taste of Wrightsville Beach on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. This year, the proceeds will benefit seniors in New Hanover County and beyond.
Hosted by Bluewater Waterfront Grill in Wrightsville Beach, the festival celebrates the area’s diverse cuisine with over 35 local tasting booths and the chance to vote for the People’s Choice awards.
The event will feature sample bites from restaurants such as Ceviche’s, Solstice Kitchen & Cocktails, Oceanic, Bluewater Waterfront Grill, Poe’s Tavern, CheeseSmith, Platypus & Gnome and Nothing Bundt Cakes, among others. Tickets also include beverage samples from Mad Mole Brewing, Wrightsville Beach Brewery, Waterline Brewing Company, Wilmington Brewing Company and Blue Shark Vodka.
Guests can also enjoy live music from the Tideline String Band. The event benefits the Weekend Meals on Wheels (WMOW) program in Wilmington, whose mission is to provide nutritious meals and social contact to seniors on weekends and other days not covered by the weekday Meals on Wheels program.
“We netted $56,000 last year and are planning to use some of last year’s and this year’s proceeds to help start a Weekend Meals on Wheels program in Brunswick County,” said event organizer Lisa Weeks.
In response to the impact of Hurricane Helene on the senior community in Western North Carolina, a raffle and auction will raise money for seniors in need in the region. WMOW has partnered with organizations in Buncombe and Ashe Counties to share raffle and auction proceeds with seniors in remote parts of the region. Additionally, several unique items from the western part of the state have been procured for the raffle and auction in support of artisans impacted by the storm.
General admission tickets are available for $100 for adults and $25 for children. This tented event will take place rain or shine at the Bluewater Waterfront Grill parking lot at 4 Marina St. in Wrightsville Beach.
